Terms and Conditions

By accessing or using 8D Text (8DT) at 8dt.net, you accept the following Terms and Conditions in full. Continued use of 8DT following any update to the present terms constitutes ongoing acceptance of the terms in force at the time of use.

1. Service Description

8DT is a browser-based text file merger and splitter provided as a general-purpose convenience tool for personal and professional text file management. 8DT operates entirely within your browser. All file reading, text processing, and output generation happen locally on your device through client-side JavaScript. The 8DT server delivers the application interface and plays zero role in processing, receiving, or storing user files.

2. As-Is Basis

8DT is provided on an “as is”, “where is”, and “as available” basis, with all faults, errors, defects, and limitations, whether known or unknown. No warranty of any kind, express or implied, is made regarding 8DT's fitness for any particular purpose, merchantability, accuracy, reliability, availability, or uninterrupted operation.

3. Prohibited Use in Critical Applications

8DT is expressly unsuitable for mission-critical, safety-critical, life-sustaining, legal-evidentiary, regulatory-compliance, financial-transaction, or high-stakes applications of any kind. Users must independently verify all 8DT output before relying on any merged, split, divided, or cut file for any consequential purpose. Users bear sole responsibility for maintaining independent backups of all original files and for determining whether 8DT output meets their specific requirements.

Users may use 8DT exclusively for lawful purposes. Users may not use 8DT to process, store, or facilitate any content or activity that:

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, 8DT and its operators disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including all warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, accuracy, non-infringement, and any warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade. 8DT makes no warranty that the service will meet your requirements, operate without interruption, remain secure or error-free, produce results that are accurate, reliable, or complete, or preserve the formatting, encoding, or content integrity of processed files. The entire risk as to the quality, performance, and results of 8DT rests with you.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, 8DT, the operators of 8dt.net, and all affiliated entities, directors, officers, employees, agents, licensors, and service providers shall bear zero liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages of any kind, including damages for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, business opportunity, or any other intangible loss, arising from or related to your access to or use of 8DT, your inability to access or use 8DT, any output generated by 8DT, any errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in 8DT output, any corruption or loss of data resulting from use of 8DT, or any unauthorized access to or alteration of your data, regardless of the legal theory (contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise) and regardless of whether 8DT has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

In jurisdictions that do not permit full exclusion of liability, the total cumulative liability of 8DT and its operators for all claims arising from or relating to 8DT shall not exceed one euro (€1.00).

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless 8DT, the operators of 8dt.net, and all affiliated entities, directors, officers, employees, agents, partners, and licensors from and against any and all claims, demands, actions, damages, losses, costs, expenses, and liabilities of any nature whatsoever, including reasonable legal fees and court costs, arising from or related to your use of 8DT, your reliance on 8DT output, your violation of any provision of the present terms, your violation of any applicable law or regulation, or your infringement of any rights of any third party.

8. User Content and Responsibility

All content processed through 8DT remains the sole property and sole responsibility of the user. 8DT claims no ownership over user-generated content or user-provided files. Users bear full responsibility for the legality, accuracy, and appropriateness of all content processed using 8DT. Given the browser-based architecture of 8DT, users are solely responsible for the security of their own device and browser environment.

9. Intellectual Property

All 8DT branding, design, code, visual assets, and textual content remain the exclusive property of the operators of 8dt.net. Users receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use 8DT solely for lawful purposes in accordance with the present terms. Users may not reproduce, redistribute, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from the 8DT application, source code, or visual assets without express written permission. No rights are transferred beyond what is expressly stated in the present terms.

10. Third-Party Libraries and Resources

8DT integrates open-source JavaScript libraries, CSS frameworks, and may load resources from external content delivery networks. Third-party components are subject to their own respective licenses, terms, and conditions. 8DT assumes no responsibility for the functionality, accuracy, availability, or security of any third-party resource.

11. Service Availability and Modification

8DT reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the service at any time, with or without notice, and without liability of any kind. 8DT reserves the right to update the present terms at any time. Continued use of 8DT following any modification constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

12. Force Majeure

8DT and its operators shall bear no liability for any failure or delay in the availability or performance of 8DT resulting from circumstances beyond reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, pandemics, war, terrorism, civil unrest, government actions, power failures, internet outages, cyberattacks, or failures of third-party infrastructure.

13. Severability

If any provision of the present Terms and Conditions is found to be unenforceable or invalid under applicable law, the affected provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or if modification is not possible, severed entirely. All remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

14. No Waiver

Failure by 8DT to enforce any provision of the present Terms and Conditions on any occasion shall not constitute a waiver of the right to enforce the same provision or any other provision on any future occasion.

15. Entire Agreement

The present Terms and Conditions, together with the 8DT Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and 8DT regarding use of the service, and supersede all prior or contemporaneous communications, representations, or agreements, whether oral or written.

16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

The present Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Italy. Any dispute arising from or relating to the present terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Como, Italy.

17. Governing Language

The present Terms and Conditions are drafted in English. 8DT may make translated versions available as a courtesy to users in other languages. In the event of any inconsistency, ambiguity, or conflict between the English version and any translated version, the English version shall prevail and govern in all respects.
